Responsibilities
One of Insight Global’s large Agricultural Sciences companies is looking for an IT Field Services Engineer to join their team located in the Indianapolis, Indiana area. This person will analyze, design and implement new, or modify existing, desktop computing infrastructure to meet ongoing research center needs
The Field Services Engineer will provide technical knowledge to handle complex issues and ensure desktop computing infrastructure meets business requirements, follows industry standards, and maintains data security
This role will apply knowledge of desktop computing infrastructure to meet research center and information management needs for a robust and fault tolerant network
The qualified candidate will collaborate daily with data scientists and analysts in a team setting as well as 3rd party data providers to drive best practices and identify innovative strategies for successful data product delivery
The successful candidate will be responsible to ensure that the platform will be robust and scalable in order to handle increasing volumes and demands from data and analytics
We are looking for someone who:
Has an advance understanding of desktop computing and implementation
Has excellent oral and written communication, planning and decision-making skills. Possess analytical and problem-solving skills
Is able to work with people at all levels, including outside consultants and vendors
Is able to build and maintain relationships and facilitate collaboration and communication
Has a thorough understanding of desktop imaging and desktop deployment strategies
Has an interest in learning new technologies and operating systems
Has excellent interpersonal skills and a can-do attitude with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment
Has excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work as part of a global team and, at times, independently while appropriately prioritizing tasks
Experience in research, life sciences, or in data science would be a huge plus!
Qualification
Required
2+ years of experience supporting Windows setup and support, with advanced hands-on desktop computing, imaging, and implementation experience
Ticketing system support experience, handling escalated Tier 2 tickets with SLA's while providing white-glove employee experience
Experience with imaging, configuring, and computer/infrastructure deployment strategies – prefer experience with PDQ, SCCM/Tanium, or similar
Tier 2 Active Directory support experience
Has an advance understanding of desktop computing and implementation

Possess analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred
MAC OS setup and support experience preferred
A+ Certification
ServiceNow or Jira ticketing system experience
Life Sciences, Lab/Science industry experience – having an understanding of how lab equipment or instrumentation connects and interacts with computer infrastructure
Experience in research, life sciences, or in data science would be a huge plus!
