R&D Software Engineer II
Akkodis is seeking an R&D Software Engineer II for a Contract with a client in St. Paul, MN. The role involves designing and developing secure software applications for medical devices using C++ and Python, while implementing cybersecurity controls and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain secure software applications using C++ and Python for medical devices
Implement and enforce secure coding practices to protect against emerging cybersecurity threats and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
Utilize cryptographic protocols and tools such as OpenSSL for encryption, key management, and certificate validation
Participate in code reviews, threat modeling, and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate security risks
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Systems Engineering, Product Security) to define and implement cybersecurity controls
Document system configurations, security architecture, and software designs according to medical device development processes
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience developing software in C++ and Python
Strong knowledge of secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC) and secure coding practices
Experience applying cybersecurity principles and cryptographic protocols (e.g., OpenSSL, TLS) in software design for regulated environments
