Responsibilities

Lead the setup and operation of instrumentation and data acquisition systems during the execution of component, subsystem, and system level environmental, Modal, deployment, and integration testing

Work closely with technical experts and test support staff to meet the needs of the programs

Advise customers and labs of measurement capabilities and limitations, and make recommendations to ensure success

Prepare work instructions for instrumentation installation and checkout

Lead technician and team efforts to execute instrumentation tasks

Configure, operate and troubleshoot data acquisition systems, instrumentation, and automated test equipment

Develop and review test procedures

Setup and execute Modal testing and perform post test data review

Support test discrepancy resolution and other troubleshooting activities

Prepare and disseminate test results, reports, and analysis

Required

Bachelors or Masters degree from an accredited college/university (Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline preferred) or equivalent experience/combined education

Experience with electrical test equipment such as bench top power supplies, oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, data acquisition and control systems

Experience with sensors including accelerometers, strain gages, thermocouples, RTDs, load cells, microphones, signal conditioning, and device troubleshooting

Experience with testing and quality processes

Strong communication skills

Security Clearance: Secret

Preferred

Experience working in the test lab environment; exposure to structural and environmental test

Familiarity with principles behind digital signal processing, signal conditioning, and data analysis

Experience with data manipulation in Matlab and Excel; programming experience desired

Familiarity with Modal testing and Modal data analysis

Experience writing Lab Work Instructions or Test Procedures
