Responsibilities

Research federal and state laws and regulations and rules of industry self-regulatory organizations to determine applicability and risk to operational aspects of the company and its products and services

Research laws and regulations applicable to insurance companies, broker-dealers, investment advisers and mutual funds

Consult with various business groups and/or project teams

Consult with internal associates and clients regarding legal and compliance matters

Assist with investigating and resolving legal and compliance issues

Review upcoming and enacted legislation that could affect the company’s various businesses

Perform research projects affecting all areas of the business

Prepare legal memoranda

Perform compliance related functions

Required

Bachelor's Degree required

Current law student having completed at least one year of law school

Must have effective communication, analytical, and leadership skills

Proficient with Microsoft Office
