$17/hr - $23/hrThe South Carolina Department of Transportation is seeking a summer intern for the Division of Minority and Small Business Affairs (MSBA). The intern will gain exposure to various MSBA programs, assist with processing documents for federal and state projects, and participate in outreach events and training sessions.

Responsibilities
Attends meetings, workshops, outreach events, and training sessions
Assists with processing, reconciling and verifying documents for federal and state projects to include contract award data, subhauler’s requests, quarterly reports, and closeouts
Assists with scanning documents, using 10-key calculator to tally data and enter in database, and develop reports
Assists with conducting DBE Onsite Reviews and processing Annual Update Applications per federal regulations
Utilizes applicable databases to retrieve pertinent information that will assist in the review process and prepare reports for review and approval
Aids in performing research and analytical-related functions and attends meetings/interviews with certified and prospective DBE firms
Assists with preparing spreadsheets
Attends with the division director selected relevant agency, local, and/or national committee meetings
Qualification
Required
A high school diploma; or an approved acceptable equivalence
Applicants must be accepted into or currently in a two-year or four-year college or university program in Business Administration, Political Science, Marketing, Economics, Sociology, Gender Studies, Public Policy, Communications, History, Public Administration or related field
