Responsibilities
Design and prepare project plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports for Public Works Infrastructure and Land Development projects
Provide engineering services during construction
Analyze survey reports, maps, and other data to plan projects
Perform complex calculations and use specialized software to ensure accurate project specifications
Prepare and present project proposals to clients, including cost estimates and timelines
Communicate with clients regarding the status of project scope, schedule, and budget during planning, design, and construction
Collaborate with architects, contractors, agency staff, and other professionals to ensure project success
Conduct site visits to monitor progress and address any issues that arise; ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and safety standards
Supervise and/or coordinate work with other engineers or technicians
Maintain consistent high quality of professionalism and engineering design work
Qualification
Required
BS or MS in Civil or Environmental Engineering
5-10 years of civil engineering experience
Registered PE in the state of CA
Experience in land development, grading, civil design, water, sewer, storm drain systems, and water & wastewater projects
Project management experience
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D software, and other engineering design tools
Proficient oral and written communication skills, including strong technical writing skills for creating reports, proposals, and project documentation
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Bluebeam for document management and collaboration
Proficient organizational skills, including planning, organizing, and coordinating multiple tasks simultaneously
Experience in construction observation to ensure compliance with design specifications
Previous experience with supervision of others and can work in a collaborative manner
Effective problem solving and critical thinking skills
