Postdoctoral Research Associate

They are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to conduct research on the heterogeneous catalysis of Gas-to-Liquids, focusing on methane activation and transformation into liquid products, while collaborating with scientists from the National Synchrotron Light Source II.

Responsibilities
Develop and demonstrate a new experimental flow reactor to advance efforts in gas-to-liquids fundamental understanding and augment existing batch reactor chemistry
Collaborate with large interdisciplinary and international teams that utilize X-ray methods under operando conditions
Collect and analyze data, present findings at national conferences, and write manuscripts summarizing their findings
Qualification
Required
Ph.D., or Ph.D. equivalent, in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or a closely related field
Expertise in heterogeneous catalytic systems (thermal-, electro-, or photo-catalytic)
Proven record of published work and strong communication skills
Preferred
Background in spectroscopic techniques, including Infrared Spectroscopy, X-Ray Photoemission Spectroscopy, NMR, and Synchrotron based characterization
Knowledge of the Gas-Liquid-Solid interlayer as applied to catalytic systems
Combinatorial Experimental Frameworks (Design of Experiments)
Expertise in batch and flow style chemical reactors
