Responsibilities

Conduct research and analysis on federal, state, and local energy and nuclear policy, legislation, regulations, and political developments
Track and summarize legislative activity, hearings, nominations, and agency actions relevant to advanced nuclear and clean energy
Monitor key departments, committees, agencies, and industry organizations and assess impacts on company priorities
Prepare briefing materials, summaries, newsletter and talking points for internal and external use
Support preparation and provided administrative support for meetings with policymakers, regulators, and external partners
Assist with policy tracking and data entry to capture company's external engagements
Process and synthesize large volumes of information into clear, concise, and actionable insights
Assist with drafting internal policy updates or stakeholder communications under supervision
Maintain organized records of policy research, stakeholder interactions, and legislative tracking materials
Other duties as assigned

Required

Current undergraduate or graduate student in public policy, political science, energy policy, engineering, law, or a related field
Demonstrated interest in government affairs, legislative processes and current political landscape
Basic understanding or familiarity with the nuclear energy industry and/or prior coursework or experience in energy policy, regulatory affairs or legislation
Excellent written communication skills with the ability to draft clear, concise and well-organized summaries and briefing materials for a variety of audiences
Strong research and analytical skills with an attention to detail
Ability to quickly understand and synthesize complex regulatory and policy information
Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Professional demeanor with strong verbal communication and presentation skills; able to interact effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders
Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently
Prioritizes and ensures safety of one self and others
Ability to proactively collect, manage and transfer knowledge
Ability to seek different and novel ways to create efficiencies when working on problems, challenges and issues
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive or non-public information
