Southeast Missouri Residential Services, a State of Missouri facility, is seeking a Supervising Support Care Assistant to join their team. The role involves supervising and scheduling direct care staff, communicating with clients and families, and participating in habilitation programs to support individuals with developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

Supervising and scheduling direct care staff for campus group homes
Oversees work of other Support Care staff
Communicates with doctors, clients, and families, and educates clients on care
As part of a treatment team, observing behavior and participating in habilitation programs
May provide transport to offsite appointments and application of restraints, when necessary
Schedule training for Support Care staff
Preparing reports, tracking leave requests, and assisting in group homes/SOP ISL with staffing/programming, etc. as necessary
Accountable for administering medications and other prescribed treatment such as taking vital signs, assisting with care plan activities, etc
Providing coverage in Group Homes as to meet consumer staffing needs as needed
May perform some security-related functions in a mental health care setting
Other duties as assigned

Required

Possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency
Must possess a valid drivers license
Knowledge of facility practices, rules, and regulations; methods and techniques of supervision
Ability to maintain records, schedules, and reports
Must pass background screening
Two-four years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed)
