FPGA Engineer II

As an FPGA Engineer II, you will design, implement, and validate FPGA solutions for safety-critical systems, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure robust designs that meet mission requirements.

Responsibilities
Design & Implement FPGA Logic: Develop synthesizable RTL for FPGA and SoC platforms supporting sensor integration, communications, signal processing, and control systems
Verify & Validate Designs: Create HDL testbenches, perform simulation, and support timing analysis and closure to ensure functional correctness and performance
Support Lab Bring-Up: Assist with FPGA bring-up, debugging, and validation using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with systems, hardware, and software engineers to align FPGA development with overall program requirements
Document & Present Results: Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations to communicate design status, results, and findings to stakeholders
Improve Engineering Processes: Identify and contribute to enhancements in design methodologies, verification strategies, and development workflows
Grow Technical Expertise: Engage in continuous learning and knowledge sharing to strengthen team capability and engineering excellence
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
3 or more years of experience working with complex FPGA or ASIC designs (including internship or research experience)
1 or more years of hands-on experience with VHDL and/or Verilog for FPGA design and verification
Experience across one or more FPGA development phases, including RTL design, verification, synthesis/implementation, timing closure, and lab validation
Familiarity with FPGA development tools such as Xilinx Vivado, Intel Quartus, or Lattice Diamond
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to technical detail
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently while contributing in a collaborative, team-based environment
Proficiency using simulation tools and lab equipment for debugging and validation
Applicants must currently hold an ACTIVE U.S. security clearance
