The Accounts Payable Accountant is responsible for accurately and efficiently processing the organization's accounts payable transactions, reviewing invoices, and ensuring timely payment to vendors.

Responsibilities
Reviews and obtains proper authorization for all documentation submitted for payment
Processes all invoices into the appropriate systems accurately within the required timeframe
Sorting of Incoming Mail
Communicate with internal departments and follow through until discrepancies and/or problems are resolved, and the process is completed
Interacts with vendors and internal customers to ensure a satisfactory relationship by responding to inquiries regarding expenditures in a timely manner
Develops and maintains working knowledge of general ledger chart of accounts to properly record expenses
Prepares general ledger journal entries as needed to reclassify information
Various other functions or tasks as assigned by management
Qualification
Required
2-year degree in business or accounting required, plus 2 years of relevant experience
Working knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook
Proficiency in basic computer skills required
Ability to learn and use specific programs and applications as needed
Effective verbal and written communication skills are necessary to provide courteous and professional customer service
Ability to work well within a team to share knowledge and skills
Organizational skills and attention to detail are required in order to perform job functions
Preferred
Bachelor's degree is a plus
