They are seeking a highly motivated summer intern in the Antibody Engineering Department to support the discovery and engineering of antibody-based therapies using molecular biology and biochemistry techniques.

Responsibilities

Apply protein engineering techniques for the alteration of antibody/protein binding interactions and improvement of other developability properties

Use high-throughout biochemical techniques to rigorously characterize antibody properties (e.g. binding affinity, thermal stability, and target epitope)

Perform cell-based binding and functional screening assays

Interface with colleagues within and outside of Antibody Engineering to understand and address program needs

Develop oral and written science communication skills through presentation of key findings at internal meetings and in a poster session with colleagues

Required

Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student for >2 years)

Must be pursuing a Master's Degree (enrolled student)

Must be pursuing a PhD (enrolled student)

Required majors: Bioengineering, Biochemistry, Biology, Immunology, or related disciplines

Basic biochemistry and/or molecular biology lab skills

Experience with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint

Excitement and enthusiasm to learn and develop protein engineering skills

Preferred

Basic understanding of biochemical/biophysical concepts related to protein-protein interactions

Competency with mammalian cell culture

Experience analyzing and designing construct DNA and protein sequences

Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
