Controls Engineering Specialist
Akkodis is seeking a Controls Engineering Specialist for a Contract with a client in Sterling Heights, MI. The role involves developing and implementing improvements to control systems and troubleshooting automation and robotics issues.

Responsibilities
Develop and implement improvements to control systems and equipment using Factory Information Systems (FIS) data
Troubleshoot machinery, robotics, automation, and control systems to resolve downtime and performance issues
Integrate controls into IT systems such as FIS, Error Proofing, QWX, and QTS
Program and reprogram automation equipment, material handling systems, and robots for engineering changes and new installations
Maintain program backups and ensure compliance with equipment safety standards through risk assessments
Lead problem-solving efforts, coordinate resources, and assist in training plant electricians and manufacturing personnel
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma required
Minimum 5 years of related experience in controls engineering and automation systems
Strong expertise in Siemens PLC programming and troubleshooting, with experience in CNC and automation systems
Hands-on experience integrating controls with Factory Information Systems (FIS) and resolving equipment performance issues
Preferred
bachelor's degree in engineering
