Responsibilities

Facilitating 1-hour outdoor life-skills sessions (leadership, public speaking, teamwork, focus) using nature-based challenges and adventure-style methodologies

Delivering focused, high-energy motivational coaching sessions that guide students toward academic targets using adaptive learning software

Transforming curriculum through storytelling, personalization, and dynamic presentation to maintain strong K-12 student engagement

Implementing safety standards and sound outdoor judgment (weather assessment, route selection, equipment inspection, Leave No Trace principles) according to Waypoint's operational guidelines

Evaluating competency development by having students demonstrate real-world application of acquired life skills

Maintaining rigorous standards of excellence while serving as an approachable, motivating mentor students genuinely respect

Required

Bachelor's degree in any field

At least 3 years of documented experience with K-12 students through school settings, camps, coaching roles, or outdoor programming

Demonstrated history of excellence in academic, athletic, or professional contexts

Strong public speaking capability with the ability to engage and energize large student groups in both indoor and outdoor settings

Authentic capacity to connect with K-12 learners and understand their interests and culture, functioning as an inspiring role model who challenges them to develop, not as a peer

Authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship

Commitment to on-site work at Waypoint Academy's Dripping Springs, TX campus (near Austin)
