Computer Software
Responsibilities
Developing and maintaining software that simulates the Chinook OFP, enabling interactive use of virtual cockpit displays for maintenance and fault diagnosis
Supporting the development of plant and equipment layouts, capacity plans, accident prevention measures, sequencing of operations and work flows
Participating in the evaluation of new techniques and technological developments for integration into the production process and service operations
Assisting with designing, maintaining, and optimizing the production system by integrating design, supply base, facilities, equipment, and personnel
Conducting basic work flow design and analysis
Developing simple models, databases and spreadsheets to analyze data and provides summary analysis and metrics for consultation to leaders
Supporting the development and implementation of production and tooling methodologies
Participating as a member of our production team to support the integration of technical solutions across multiple disciplines
Supporting the development, identification and implementation of conceptual designs and maintenance of the program architecture for build
Participating in the implementation of manufacturing plans
Investigating technical problems
Participating in the implementation of Lean principles and technologies
Learning and performing Reliability & Maintainability (R&M) tasks such as Predictions, Allocations, Failure Mode & Effect Analyses, R&M testing, and Failure Review, Corrective Action and Maintainability Analysis
Engaging in initiatives to streamline inefficiencies through the use of automation and assist in analyses of Product Assurance and System Effectiveness
Assisting in the development and integration of complex systems across the Boeing company
Involving system requirements definition and documentation, verification planning, validation execution and cross-functional collaboration on design solutions and analyses
Developing mechanical systems component detail and assembly designs in the area of Hydraulics, ECS, Fuels, etc
Documenting processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of mechanical system parts and assemblies
Participating in technical review of supplier designs and non-conformances
Analyzing results and supporting design reviews
Developing, integrating and documenting structural requirements to establish the system design
Coordinating with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment
Guiding product design and verifying structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance
Developing test plans and configurations, supporting test execution and analyzing/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
Defining and documenting certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied
Supporting in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements
Developing and maintaining basic cable/wire harness and equipment detail and assembly designs
Assisting with engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests)
Developing and maintaining basic electrical product detail, assembly and installation designs (e.g., equipment racks, power panels, cable routing and geometry, antennas)
Following documented processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities
Collecting data to support the development of statements of work
Assisting in data gathering of supplier capabilities
Reviewing functional and physical input used in the development of integrated design and system architecture
Qualification
Required
Enrolled student attending Drexel University with an expected graduation date on or after August 2026
Ability to intern 6 months from fall 2025 to spring 2026
Preferred
Exceptional communication skills and interest and enthusiasm related to engineering, aerospace, and a career with Boeing
Candidate should be able to work in a team environment
Strong academic performance
Exceptional organizational and collaboration skills as demonstrated through leadership positions on teams and/or in student or civic organizations
Strong technical experiences as demonstrated through technical projects, research, or engineering internships
