UC Davis Health is seeking an entry-level Financial Services Analyst who will learn to utilize established financial services concepts and procedures to perform payroll and financial processing tasks. The role includes reviewing payroll data for accuracy, performing data entry, and providing customer service related to payroll systems.

Responsibilities

Processes biweekly and monthly payroll for School of Medicine, Network, and Primary Care Hospital employees by reviewing time and attendance data for accuracy, performing routine payroll transactions and data entry, completing reconciliations, preparing final pay and other recurring payroll tasks, and processing off-cycle and ad hoc payments in accordance with standard practices

Required

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

Basic knowledge of payroll, financial, or accounting concepts processes and procedures

Basic mathematical skills and order operations concepts to calculate timesheets

Proficiency using ERP systems (ex: Peoplesoft), spreadsheets, and database software

Interpersonal skills, service orientation, active listening, critical thinking, attention to detail, ability to multi-task in a high-volume environment, effective verbal and written communication skills and organizational skills

Basic knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impacts on protecting university resources

Preferred

Previous experience in Payroll or Finance desired

Basic knowledge of financial and accounting concepts, processes, and procedures

Proficiency in analyzing financial data and reconciling accounts

Ability to work accurately under deadlines and manage multiple financial tasks

Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills

Proficiency in spreadsheet and database software (e.g., Excel, financial systems)

Ability to function effectively as part of a financial services team and collaborate with multiple stakeholders
