Responsibilities

Develop and maintain trade compliance policies and procedures

Collaborate and provide guidance and training to various departments on international logistics and trade compliance – including logistics, purchasing, sales, customer service, and R&D

Partner with legal, finance, operations, and other relevant departments to align trade compliance strategies with business objectives

Ensure company imports are compliant with CBP import regulations such as HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) classification, valuation, country of origin, assists, recordkeeping, ADD/CVD, special trade programs, and partner government agency declarations

Regular collaboration with customs brokerage partner and freight forwarders

Conduct internal audits and implement corrective actions as needed

Review free trade agreement qualifications and issue certificates as needed

Issue and maintain customs broker scorecards measuring their adherence to broker business rules

Maintain operational and compliance related KPIs

Classify products for import (HTS) and export (ECCN)
