Parts Room Expeditor

Responsibilities
Provide timely service to maintenance, production, and operations teams by issuing parts, tools, and supplies
Receive, inspect, classify, store, rotate, issue, and distribute MRO parts, materials, and equipment
Maintain accurate perpetual inventory using computerized inventory systems and barcode technology
Assist in cycle counts, physical inventories, audits, and discrepancy resolution
Prepare requisitions and documentation for stock replacement and vendor procurement
Stage and assemble work orders and kits for preventive and corrective maintenance activities
Identify, segregate, and report surplus, obsolete, damaged, or non‑conforming materials
Monitor and report irregularities in stock movement or usage trends
Load, unload, move, and distribute materials using hand trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, or other approved equipment
Assist in and oversee the unloading of delivery vehicles
Unpack, weigh, count, and inspect incoming goods for accuracy, condition, and compliance
Verify materials against purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices; document shortages or damage
Transport materials between the stockroom, maintenance areas, and production departments
Operate material handling equipment in compliance with safety and food manufacturing standards
Sort and store parts on racks, shelves, or bins according to part number, size, type, or usage
Maintain a clean, organized, and food‑safe stockroom, dock, and storage areas
Apply 5S and stock rotation principles to ensure efficiency and contamination prevention
Protect stored materials from damage, deterioration, or spoilage
Perform housekeeping duties to support food safety and operational excellence
Maintain accurate inventory transactions and records using computer‑based systems
Prepare daily logs, count sheets, inventory adjustment reports, and usage summaries
Compile reports related to inventory discrepancies, damaged stock, spoilage, and location changes
Assist with departmental reporting, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
Participate in inventory, maintenance, and safety meetings as required
Adhere to company policies, SOPs, GMPs, food safety, and quality system requirements
Support the development and improvement of standard stockroom, inventory, and asset management procedures
Use barcode and/or CMMS systems to receive, issue, track, and count inventory accurately
Perform additional duties as assigned to support plant operations and food safety compliance
Follow all food safety, quality, sanitation, and allergen‑control requirements
Comply with color‑coded container and tool policies within production and storage areas
Notify supervision immediately of any condition that may impact food safety, product quality, or regulatory compliance
Identify, document, and initiate corrective actions for food safety or quality non‑conformities
Prevent the processing, use, or distribution of non‑conforming materials until issues are resolved
Support compliance with Company, Customer, and Government standards (including GMPs, HACCP, and regulatory requirements)
Ensure continuity of responsibilities by transferring duties to a qualified replacement when absent
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience in a parts room, stockroom, or warehouse within food, beverage, or manufacturing environment required
Strong clerical and computer skills
Knowledge of industrial machinery, MRO parts, and plant equipment
Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and documentation accuracy
Highly service‑oriented with the ability to support maintenance and production teams
Understanding of inventory control, asset management, and GMP‑driven environments
Ability to identify inventory discrepancies and unusual stock movement
Experience using barcode systems for inventory tracking
Self‑motivated and capable of working independently without direct supervision
Physically able to lift, carry, and handle materials in an industrial manufacturing environment
Preferred
Technical or vocational training preferred
Experience with inventory systems, CMMS, or ERP software preferred. (D365)
