Responsibilities

The Manufacturing Engineer (ME) is the technical lead of the manufacturing processes of internal and external projects and is responsible for the implementation and execution of successful production activities
Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation (including manufacturing instructions, routings, process specifications and tooling)
Solving manufacturing problems, investigating process failures and implementing corrective actions
Interface with production personnel including operators, quality inspectors, and shop floor supervisors
Generate content for Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Process 3P (Production Preparation Process), TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and PHA (Process Hazard Assessment)
Implementation of lean manufacturing methodologies including standard work, point of use tooling, material presentation and process improvements
Develop manufacturing cell layouts including tooling, machinery and equipment as needed
Create standard work and contribute to manufacturing planning
Identify, lead, and implement Capital Expenditure (CAPEX/CAR) initiatives as related to manufacturing equipment, machinery and automated inspection equipment

Required

BS/MS in an engineering discipline, preferably mechanical engineering, industrial engineer, or manufacturing engineering or related manufacturing experience in multi-part mechanisms and mechanical assemblies
Project management skills with the ability to document, plan, and execute projects related to manufacturing equipment and process improvement
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems using formal problem-solving tools
Demonstrated ability of implementing of Continuous Improvement & Lean Manufacturing methodologies
In-depth understanding ERP/MRP planning systems
CAD, 3-D modeling, assembly creation, drawings and GD&T in SolidWorks
Design of tooling and fixtures
Design for Manufacturing methods and techniques
MS Office proficiency – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio
This position requires good shop floor presence, and motivation to become a process/machine subject matter expert
The manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for investigations and daily floor support

Preferred

6+ years of hands-on experience in manufacturing
Familiarity with the Aerospace & Defense industry, AS9100, ISO9001 or other heavily regulated industry
Knowledge of missile systems and launch vehicle mechanisms and systems
