The Office of Physician/Faculty Recruitment and Retention is seeking a tenure-track faculty scientist or physician-scientist for the Sol Sherry Thrombosis Research Center at Temple University. The role involves conducting research on thrombosis and hemostasis, teaching, and participating in clinical and translational research within the Section of Hematology.

Responsibilities

Develop an independent, extramurally funded research laboratory
Conduct research in hemostasis, thrombosis, infectious disease models, platelet biology and signal transduction, or regulation of coagulation
Teach clinical fellows, residents, medical students, and physician assistant students
Participate in clinical and translational research
Practice in outpatient clinics focused on hemostasis and thrombotic disorders

Qualification

Ph.D.M.D./Ph.D.Research in hemostasisNIH grant writingBE/BC in HematologyPublications in peer-reviewed journalsMentoring studentsInterpersonal skillsWriting skills

Required

Qualified applicants will have Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degrees, demonstrating the ability to develop an independent, extramurally funded research laboratory
Must have an active research program in hemostasis, thrombosis, infectious disease models with emphasis on hemostasis and thrombosis, platelet biology and signal transduction, or regulation of coagulation
Possess academic credentials for a faculty appointment as Assistant Professor or Associate Professor
The successful candidate must have multiple publications in respectable peer-reviewed journals
Excellent interpersonal and writing skills
Experience writing NIH grants
Physician-scientists must be BE/BC in Hematology and eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

Preferred

Experience in mentoring undergraduate and graduate students is welcome
