Responsibilities
Facilitating 1-hour outdoor life-skills workshops (public speaking, focus, leadership, teamwork) using nature-based challenges and adventure-style activities
Conducting brief, high-energy motivation sessions where you guide students toward academic targets using adaptive software
Making curriculum engaging through storytelling, personalization, and dynamic energy that maintains K-12 student engagement
Implementing safety protocols and outdoor decision-making (route planning, weather assessments, gear inspections, Leave No Trace fundamentals) according to Waypoint's field standards
Evaluating skill mastery by having students demonstrate they can transfer the life skill to real-world situations
Maintaining high standards of excellence while serving as a relatable, motivating role model students genuinely respect
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in any field
At least 3 years of experience working with K-12 students in educational, camp, coaching, or outdoor program settings
Documented track record of high achievement (academic, athletic, or professional)
Strong public speaking ability with capacity to energize and maintain attention for large student groups, both indoors and outdoors
Innate ability to connect with K-12 learners, their interests, and culture—not as a peer but as a positive role model who challenges them to develop
Legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship
Commitment to working on-site at Waypoint Academy's campus in Dripping Springs, TX (near Austin)
