Quality Assurance Compliance Specialist

They are seeking a Quality Assurance Compliance Specialist to assist in maintaining compliance with regulatory and quality programs, and to support various quality initiatives within the facility.

Responsibilities

Assist Quality Assurance Compliance Technician group with some direction from Quality Assurance Management to ensure the department possesses necessary skills to achieve department goals and objectives
Assist Quality Assurance Management in maintaining compliance with regulatory and quality programs; environmental program, GMP inspections, and CAPA program; act as the point person for specific programs as assigned by Quality Assurance Management
Review all retail labels for accuracy regarding certifications, label claims and allergens
Develop and help verify quality-related programs as needed, to ensure the facility maintains 3rd party (Kosher, Halal, Organic, Halal, NSF Gluten Free, NSF Sport/Contents Certified, Fair Trade) and customer audit requirements
Manage the GMP inspection rotations
Complete customer document requests, including customer surveys, in a timely manner
Create finished product documentation such as Allergen Statements, Bioengineered Statements, Safety Data Sheets, and Ingredient Breakdowns as assigned by the Quality Assurance Compliance Supervisor
Maintain the certification submissions program under the guidance of Quality Assurance Management, ensuring all products are being properly managed by the designated certifying bodies (examples: NSF Sport, Gluten Free, Kosher, Halal, Organic, etc.)
Compile information and submit Corrective Action Reports (CARs) when facility issues result in supplier complaints
Assist Supplier Quality on ensuring item level documents, in TraceGains, are being appropriately gathered and reviewed
Write or update Standard Operating Procedures as needed and assigned by Quality Assurance Management
Assist Quality Assurance Leadership with audits, as needed
Assist in improving Select Custom Solutions/Mill Haven Foods Quality and Safety programs through continuous evaluation of/with Supplier(s)
Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices and Safety Protocol:
Stop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures
Correct or report any observed safety hazards
Support safety policies and programs

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology, Food Science, Biology, Chemistry or other Science related field required
Minimum three (3) years of experience in Quality at a Food Manufacturing business required

Preferred

HACCP certification preferred
SQF Practitioner preferred
PCQI certification preferred
