GIS Specialist

Responsibilities

Extensive use of ArcGIS Pro for data analysis and cartographic production. Use of ArcGIS Online for mobile field data collection, web maps, authoritative datasets, and integration with ArcGIS Pro
Manage tasks and time accordingly for multiple simultaneous projects with competing deadlines using task tracking system
Work independently and collaboratively with a team of GIS professionals and adhere to AECOM’s GIS standards: folder structure and data standards
Troubleshoot and devise new approaches with minimal guidance
Cross-discipline coordination: Work closely with project teams and clients to understand project needs and deliver GIS solutions of moderate to significant scope and complexity
Some project tasks include biological permitting to support infrastructure and utility projects, species habitat modeling, impact analyses and associated calculations

Required

Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, or related field
2 years of relevant experience or equivalency of experience and/or education demonstrating proficiency in ArcGIS Pro
Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required

Preferred

4+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online and/or Portal, and mobile field data collection
Technical knowledge of geographic concepts, including coordinate systems, data collection methods, spatial data management, analysis, data visualization, cartographic design, and figure production
A team player with demonstrated GIS competence who is looking to grow their technical skills
Ability to independently manage time on various tasks simultaneously and communicate with task leads
Within commuting distance to Oakland, CA
