The Oregon Military Department is a state agency that supports and oversees the Oregon Youth Challenge Program. They are seeking a Group Life Coordinator 2 to supervise youth in a 24/7 facility, focusing on safety, personal growth, and teamwork while promoting positive youth development.

Responsibilities
Responsible for the care, control, safety and security of youth in a 24/7 facility
Supervise youth with emphasis on safety, personal growth, teamwork and the program’s eight core components. Promote positive youth development by establishing healthy professional relationships, role-modeling desired professional behaviors, maintaining an exceptional uniform appearance and ensuring a safe training environment
Monitoring and reporting the behavior of cadets during daily activities, offsite community projects, academic instruction, meals and extracurricular activities
Work effectively with youth who may have social, economic, emotional, or behavioral challenges. Assist youth in developing short- and long-term goals, overcoming obstacles, conflict resolution and developing life skills
Plans, leads and participates in daily physical fitness activities which includes running and calling cadence
Provides classroom instruction on a variety of topics related to program standards and character development
Qualification
Required
You must be 21 years of age
You must possess a high school diploma, GED certificate, or other proof of education at the same or higher level
1 year experience observing, evaluating, developing, or understanding of human performance, relations and interactions
A Certificate or Associate degree from an accredited school in a behavioral science, education, criminal justice, or related degree
1 year of Prior military experience, law enforcement or corrections experience
Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
Pass a fingerprint-based criminal background and abuse check
All employees in this classification/position, shall be subject to testing for the use of prohibited drugs and must pass a preemployment drug screening test
Must obtain (within 6 months of hire) and maintain a CPR/First Aid Certification
Must obtain (within 120 days of hire) and maintain a Commercial Driver License (CDL)
Employee is required to maintain a drug/alcohol free workplace in accordance with OMD Drug/Alcohol CPM's, Policies, and the Statewide Drug Free Workplace Policy 50-000-01
Must maintain physical fitness standards (tested annually)
Maintain military style grooming standards
Wear a modified military uniform and safety equipment as required
