Responsibilities
Assisting with the scheduling of lab assignments and equipment maintenance to achieve efficient utilization of the Test Lab facilities
Supporting certification agency representatives in the inspection and testing of wiring devices and their associated products
Assisting with the design and devising of test procedures for new products, including the designing of any related test apparatus
Reviewing and substantiating data, measurements and calculations to the satisfaction of both internal and outside agency representatives
Setting up using standard procedures with Lab Techs to conduct testing of wiring devices and enclosures etc
Training new Lab Technicians
Setting up and operating all components in the high-power electrical test circuits. This includes components such as step-down transformer and its secondary taps, resistive and inductive load banks, secondary protective systems, and endurance machinery
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (required)
3-6 years of experience in test and measurement environment (required)
Ability to read complex blueprints and schematics to troubleshoot and repair Test Lab equipment
Working knowledge of applicable requirements of regulatory bodies such as U.L., CSA and the National Electrical Code
Experience with test and measurement equipment and methodologies for electrical systems
