Responsibilities

Develop and implement an operating strategy that is synergistic with the corporate strategic plan to provide an overall focus for the operations group. The operating strategy will take into account financial resources, staffing levels, and manufacturing capabilities
Plan, organize, direct, control, and staff the activities of the operations group to achieve the Company's objectives within the established financial goals
Develop policies and procedures for the operations group
Develop and implement strategies to optimize manufacturing processes, reduce waste, and improve productivity while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety
Develop a competent and motivated staff by establishing a working environment that encourages the exercise of initiative, achievement, cooperation, and high standards
Keep the CFO informed of any problems that might affect quality, delivery schedules, customer satisfaction or impact the achievement of corporate goals and objectives
Establish and maintain rapport and lines of communication with all staff members
Meet regularly with subordinates to ensure a timely completion of objectives in a cost effective manner
Initiate and develop reports and studies as required
Perform other related duties as required

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field
Minimum of seven years of experience in manufacturing operations management
Proven track record of success in leading lean manufacturing principles and driving continuous improvement initiatives
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop teams
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a strategic mindset
Experience in a build-to-order or Job-shop manufacturing environment
Working knowledge of and practical experience with MRP/ERP functionality
Superior business acumen and an ability to apply it in all aspects of the business
Excellent communication skills; creative problem solver; and strong leadership skills
Experience with a continuous improvement quality system required
A sense of urgency and drive to complete and close all efforts in the operation from daily tasks on the production floor to achieving Customer acceptance of a major production system; enhanced by an ability to quickly identify issues and remove barriers to success
Demonstrated capability to manage a high quality, efficient and cost-effective operation
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and Crystal Reports
