The Agency for Health Care Administration is Florida's chief health policy and planning entity. They are seeking an Engineering Specialist III who will be responsible for performing electrical engineering reviews and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards for various healthcare facilities.

Responsibilities
This position is responsible for electrical reviews within the Bureau of Plans and Construction, Division of Health Quality Assurance
This is a highly technical electrical engineering position
Individually, and as part of a multi-disciplinary team, this position performs electrical engineering, fire safety plan reviews, and field surveys related to the design, construction, and fire safety of Hospitals, Skilled Nursing Facilities, Ambulatory Surgical Centers, Intermediate Care Facilities for the developmentally disabled, and such other facilities, as directed by the Agency to ensure compliance with all applicable codes and standards for state licensure, federal certification and as required as part of the Certificate of Need (CON) application process

Qualification
Required
Must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in electrical engineering, but candidates with engineering degrees in other specialties with course work and/or relevant work experience will be considered
Knowledge of federal and state codes, standards, statutes and rules regarding health care facilities
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Ability to act as team leader as needed
Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
Ability to plan and organize, to ensure timely completion of survey responsibilities
Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with others
Ability to utilize microcomputer equipment, facsimile equipment, mobile phone and software to enter, retrieve and manipulate data required to perform licensure and certification functions
Ability to use logic and analysis to identify the strengths and weaknesses of different approaches and code interpretation
Knowledge of NFPA Codes
Knowledge of Florida Building Code
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites
