Responsibilities
Lead and oversee mechanical engineering delivery on multiple building projects from concept through detailed design and implementation
Provide technical direction and mentorship to engineering teams, supporting the growth of junior and mid-level engineers
Drive high standards of quality, innovation, and performance across all phases of mechanical design
Direct the preparation and review of coordinated mechanical design drawings, technical specifications, performance calculations, and analysis reports
Develop HVAC and other mechanical systems with a strong emphasis on sustainability, energy efficiency, and carbon-aware design
Apply building codes, standards, and best practices to ensure designs meet functional, regulatory, and industry requirements
Build and maintain productive client relationships and represent engineering perspectives in meetings with architects, consultants, and key stakeholders
Collaborate across disciplines to align mechanical solutions with architectural intent, project goals, budgets, and schedules
Support business development through technical input on proposals and pursuit activities
Contribute to project financial success by monitoring budgets, resourcing, and delivery efficiency
Qualification
Required
15+ years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering within building services, construction, or related consulting environments
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
Deep knowledge of mechanical systems design, particularly HVAC and building services systems
Strong familiarity with design and analysis tools such as Revit, CFD, and energy modeling software
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly
Strategic thinker with a proactive, results-oriented mindset
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or equivalent preferred
Sustainability credentials (e.g., LEED AP) are a plus
