Nexstar Media Group, Inc. is seeking a creative Content Producer who is passionate about local news and energized by local-first storytelling. This role focuses on producing short-form stories and assisting in the live production of news broadcasts and digital platforms.

Responsibilities

Create short-form video optimized for KTSM's social platforms and digital audiences
Shoot and edit original stories
Pitch and develop daily digital story ideas rooted in local news and community impact
Collaborate with producers/managers to integrate content
Stay current on emerging platforms, tools, and best practices for digital storytelling
Operates studio cameras during live broadcasts
Confers with directors and producers for newscast execution
Sets up cameras and related equipment
Produces graphics for newscast
Edit video content for newscasts
Performs other duties as assigned

Required

Passion for local news and serving the El Paso community
Excellent written and verbal communication
Experience creating digital video content
Strong shooting and editing skills; comfortable with mobile workflows and lightweight gear
Ability to write engaging captions and headlines tailored for digital audiences
Sound editorial judgment; familiarity with journalism ethics and copyright best practices
Organized and adaptable; able to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, breaking-news environment
Schedule flexibility for early mornings, nights, weekends, and breaking news as needed

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in journalism, Communications, Digital Media, or equivalent experience preferred
