Responsibilities

Responsible for providing legal counsel to the Payments, Liquidity, Trade, and Investor and Issuer Services business and negotiating various documents, including services agreements for a variety of businesses
Collaborates across internal lines of business, control/support functions and/or external counsel to achieve coordinated and efficient outcomes on matters of common interest; coordinate closely with the Payments, Liquidity, Trade, and Investor and Issuer Services Product Legal teams on a regional and global basis
Manages day-to-day legal activities related to client contracting with knowledge in Payments, Liquidity, Trade, and Investor and Issuer Services, provides advisory services to internal stakeholders across all relevant business lines, and supports business projects, including about cross-border contracts
Monitors management of complex transactions, escalating to appropriate internal stakeholders when necessary
Appropriately assesses risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with internal contracting standards, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervises the activity of others and creates accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards

Required

5+ years of contracting experience, preferably in Banking but also as part of a Fintech, Software licensor or a corporate procurement role
Effective communication and negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain trusted relationships
Experience with complex deals, demonstrated ability to analyze issues and develop legal solutions
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and relationship management skills
Proven ability to apply sound judgment while managing assignments in a demanding, fast-paced environment
Bar license in good standing to practice law
Juris Doctor or equivalent law degree
