The University of Texas Medical Branch is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow in Pathology to conduct, report, and present research under the supervision of a faculty mentor. This training position involves designing and conducting advanced experiments, summarizing findings for publication, and supervising junior staff in a laboratory setting.

Responsibilities

Design, organize and conduct highly specialized and advanced experiments using established scientific protocols and procedures
Summarize findings and publish results in research journals
Assume general responsibility for scientific operations of the laboratory and provide supervision and guidance to junior technicians, students, and researchers
Conduct innovative scientific investigation by developing theories and devising scientific methods and procedures
Develop a diagnostic test for Rocio virus infection
Evaluate an NS2B-3 inhibitor in a Rocio murine model
Assist with the generation of immune serum and other works with a longtime collaborator to test the efficacy of adenovirus-vectored vaccines against Mayaro and chikungunya viruses
