Mechanical Engineer
Akkodis Group Nordics is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a direct hire position with a client in Overland Park, KS. The role involves designing and overseeing mechanical systems for construction projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.

Responsibilities
Design and develop mechanical systems such as HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards
Prepare detailed technical drawings and specifications using CAD software and coordinate with other engineering disciplines
Select and specify mechanical equipment and materials, considering performance, sustainability, and budget constraints
Collaborate with architects, engineers, vendors, and contractors to integrate mechanical systems into building designs and resolve technical challenges
Oversee construction phase activities, including issuing drawing revisions, responding to site queries, and managing commissioning processes
Perform quality control checks and ensure compliance with codes, standards, and project specifications throughout design and implementation
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent mechanical design experience
Minimum 5 years in mechanical engineering within the construction industry, focusing on HVAC and plumbing systems
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and HVAC load calculation tools (e.g., TRACE 700)
Strong understanding of mechanical system design principles, codes, and standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, local building codes)
