Responsibilities
Support, maintain, and enhance enterprise-grade Java and Spring-based applications in a high-availability production environment, with a primary focus on production support and system stability
Act as a key contributor in investigating and resolving production incidents independently, performing root cause analysis, documenting resolutions, and implementing permanent fixes to prevent recurrence
Monitor application health, analyze logs, troubleshoot performance issues, and collaborate closely with infrastructure, cloud, and DevOps teams to ensure reliable operations
Perform ongoing maintenance activities including security patching, framework upgrades, dependency updates, configuration changes, and vulnerability remediation across multiple environments
Contribute to application development by implementing bug fixes, enhancements, and refactoring efforts, including the design and development of cloud-based microservices and RESTful APIs
Optimize application performance through efficient database queries, caching strategies, and system tuning
Support CI/CD pipelines by troubleshooting deployment issues, updating configurations, and resolving pipeline failures while adhering to established Git workflows and branching strategies
Participate in code reviews, maintain high-quality technical documentation, and develop runbooks, incident reports, and knowledge transfer materials to support team continuity
Work effectively in a distributed, fast-paced production environment that leverages AWS cloud infrastructure, event-driven architecture with Kafka, and a diverse enterprise technology stack
Qualification
Required
Six or more years of professional experience developing and supporting Java applications using Java 8 or higher
Strong hands-on experience with Spring Framework technologies including Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Data
Proven experience supporting production applications hosted on AWS, including services such as EC2 and Lambda
Hands-on experience with microservices architecture, RESTful API development, and system integrations
Strong knowledge of Kafka and message queue connectors
Solid experience working with Oracle databases and Redis caching solutions
Proficiency with Git version control, branching strategies, and merge conflict resolution
Hands-on experience supporting CI/CD pipelines using tools such as ArgoCD, Electric Flow, or CloudBees
Strong understanding of DevOps practices and experience working in Linux or Unix environments
Demonstrated ability to work independently, take ownership of issues end to end, and perform effectively in an on-call or production support rotation
AWS Certified Developer Associate or AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate
Preferred
Experience with application servers such as Tomcat or WebLogic
Exposure to or experience supporting mainframe systems
Familiarity with additional databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex production issues in a fast-paced environment
Experience working with distributed teams across multiple time zones
Oracle Certified Professional Java Programmer or Confluent Certified Developer for Apache Kafka
