On-Site Lead Technician, Waste Management Services

Responsibilities
Inspect forklifts, pickup trucks, and powered industrial equipment before each shift per MWP-9060
Submit previous-day inspection checklists to GFL Safety at the beginning of each shift
Ensure inspection records are maintained by the GFL On-Site Safety Supervisor
Meet all LPSA and LSA requirements
Comply with all EHS policies and OSHA Respiratory Protection standards, including annual ½-face respirator fit testing
Complete all annual training requirements for Solid Waste Personnel working in the Baytown Complex
Receive hazardous and non-hazardous waste in drums, flobins, and roll-off containers
Inspect containers before acceptance to ensure structural integrity and proper labeling
Verify roll-off container labels daily and notify dispatch immediately if labels are missing
Weigh drums upon receipt, assign drum log numbers, and complete drum log sheets the same day
Submit drum log sheets to the Shipping Coordinator for processing
Log flobins once complete unit lists are received from the Shipping Coordinator
Prepare drum and flobin shipments promptly as directed and report any issues immediately
Apply the same workflow to universal waste (lightbulbs, batteries, aerosol cans)
Maintain cleanliness of the warehouse, yard, and flobin yard daily
Sweep floors, collect windblown debris, and use forklift magnet attachments to remove metal debris
Rotate drums so labels face the aisle
Ensure all universal waste containers are closed, structurally sound, properly labeled, and include accumulation start dates
Replace universal waste lamp packaging as required
Consolidate drums into roll-off containers by assigned target dates
Conduct Waste Container Accumulation Area inspections inside and around the 90-Day Yard
Report any issues immediately to the GFL On-Site Safety Supervisor
Dump accumulated waste hoppers into appropriate containers
Notify dispatch when containers require swap-outs
Support aerosol can puncturing operations and consolidation of remaining aerosols
Inspect aerosol storage daily to ensure no cans are left outside drums
Close used oil filter drums per closure instructions
Qualification
Required
Ability to meet physical demands of warehouse and yard work
Valid Driver's License
Ability to wear respiratory protection and comply with OSHA standards
Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
Ability to follow safety procedures and regulatory requirements
Willingness to work in a highly regulated environment
Preferred
Warehouse and forklift experience is considered a plus but not required
