New Grad, Entry LevelAAON, Inc. is seeking a Sales Application Engineer I to interface with independent manufacturer’s representatives and assist in the selection and application of HVAC products. The role involves analyzing customer design proposals, making recommendations for special equipment options, and providing technical support to sales representatives and internal personnel.

Responsibilities
Confers with manufacturer’s reps to discuss existing or potential engineering projects and products
Learns to apply engineering knowledge to generate solutions for unique HVAC applications
Learns to analyze data such as customer design proposals and specifications to determine feasibility of design change using engineering principles and advanced computational methods
Utilizes standardized pricing methodology to generate new equipment special options based on engineering, manufacturing, and material costs. Generates and renews Special Pricing Authorizations (SPAs.)
Makes minor changes to controls and systems for commercial and industrial HVAC applications
Directs minor modifications of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and customer’s specifications
Evaluates product applications using performance selection software and reviews with peers then provide to customers if necessary
Provides light technical support and technical documentation for sales representatives
Provides technical support to assist internal personnel in properly processing orders
Works with other team members to make recommendations on design modifications for standard and new product offerings
Qualification
Required
BA or BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Chemical Engineering or similar degree in applied sciences
Proficient in written and spoken English
Excellent interpersonal skills
Strong analytical problem solving
Must work well alone and on a team
Ability to make engineering decisions based on HVAC system design requirements
Lift up to 50lbs
Ability to be comfortably seated at a desk for prolonged periods of time
Ability to climb
Work requires frequent trips to manufacturing environment where individual will be subject to varying extreme temperatures and exposed to dusty/dirty conditions at times
Preferred
EIT is a plus
LEED certification is a plus
