Box Office Manager

Joshua M. Freeman Foundation is a nonprofit arts organization that operates the Freeman Arts Pavilion, an open-air performing arts venue. The Box Office Manager will oversee ticketing systems and manage the box office and staff to ensure an excellent consumer experience and financial success.

Responsibilities

Expertly manage ticketing systems: events, transactions, seat maps, holds, and reporting
Oversee internal ticketing holds, comps, artist requests, and fan club early access
Manage artist VIP packages: negotiate quantities, build in system, report, settle, and coordinate day-of operations
Facilitate ticket counts and provide reports to artist management
Process refunds and manage chargebacks; submit defenses and track in spreadsheets
Respond to ticketing and box-office inquiries professionally and promptly
Oversee third-party ticketing protocols and solutions
Manage ticketing will call with Box Office Supervisor
Support Development team in sponsor ticketing processes
Record performance attendance and generate/schedule ticket sale reports
Execute ticket discounts and promotions as directed by Marketing
Hire, schedule, and support seasonal box office staff
Submit and track annual box office budget
Knowledgeable of Freeman Arts Pavilion programs, policies, and safety plans; provide accurate information
Support accreditation processes (Standards for Excellence, nonprofit accreditations)
Serve as primary resource for performance and ticketing information
Manage Ring Central phone system and voicemail messaging
Perform additional duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree in arts management, business, or equivalent experience
Basic understanding of box office operations, sales and budgeting
Understanding of working in a nonprofit environment with volunteers
Strong technical and computer skills- proficiency with Microsoft 365/Office Suite and Adobe
Strong knowledge working with 3rd party ticketing systems and their impact on consumers
Strong experience developing seat maps, building performance events, managing ticketing changes, customer records, and selling tickets within the back-end application of the software
Customer service experience, preferably in the ticketing, entertainment, non-profit arts, or hospitality industries
Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
The incumbent must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with a demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple competing tasks and demands and to seek supervisory assistance as appropriate
