Sr. Professional Engineer
The City of Fort Worth is hiring a Senior Professional Engineer to join their Planning/Engineering team focused on the Vision Zero implementation. This role involves developing innovative approaches to enhance community safety through traffic safety projects and infrastructure solutions.

Responsibilities
Provide leadership and supervision to a team of three which includes one engineer and two engineering technicians
Develop safety countermeasure concepts and coordinate with contractors and department teams to implement safety projects
Complete service requests from the public, which includes communicating with residents, coordinating field investigations and data collection, recommending solutions and implementing short-term countermeasures such as signs, markings, flashing beacons, sidewalk and ramps
Perform project for pedestrian infrastructure and school traffic safety projects, including developing and managing scopes, schedules, and budgets in support of the team’s Annual Work Plan
Use VueWorks Enterprise Asset Management System to plan, track, and maintain accurate records of new installations and work performed on existing transportation assets
Perform sidewalk contract development and procurement for the sidewalk contract and serve as the compliance manager
Qualification
Required
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or a related field
Three (3) years of professional civil engineering experience, two (2) of which must be related to civil engineering design and construction projects and/or infrastructure design/review of private development projects
Possession of registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas. If licensed in another state, continued employment will be contingent upon obtaining registration as a Professional Engineer within the State of Texas within six months of employment
Valid driver's license
Preferred
Experience applying the Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, Public Right-of-Way Accessibility Guidelines, AASHTO Policy on Geometric Design of Highways and Streets or the National Association of City Transportation Officials Design Guidelines to safety projects
Experience performing traffic safety studies, such as sidewalk audits, school zone, crosswalk or warning beacon studies
Experience managing and implementing safety construction projects, such as crosswalks, sidewalks, roadway/pedestrian illumination or warning beacons
