Responsibilities
Ensure that each foster parent receives the best training and support possible while providing care to the foster children of Counseling and Consultation Services Inc
Be accessible to meet the needs of each foster parent
Attend all required staff meetings to ensure the highest level of communication is maintained
Work collaboratively with the foster care team to maintain the highest quality of treatment and care for the clients of CCS / SSYTS
Maintain licensure for the Foster Care program of CCS by ensuring all required foster care updates are implemented
Maintain all foster parent personnel files
Recruit new foster parents by utilizing the media, speaking engagements and any other means necessary to find acceptable foster parents for the program
Implement and maintain all training for new and existing foster parents within the program
Maintain TN Key trainer certification
Maintain CPR / First Aid foster parent rosters
Perform required home studies of the foster parents and communicate any concerns or issues to the Director of Foster Care
Develop and maintain positive relationships regarding foster care with the Department of Children’s Services and other placing agencies
Participate in Foster Care Community Outreach Activities
Work with families and Network Development to place Children in DCS custody
Participate in ongoing supervision meetings with the Director of Foster Care to discuss foster parent issues and any administrative concerns
Represent the administration in relationships with public agencies as directed by the Director of Foster Care
Communicate any observed or proposed changes to the foster care program for possible implementation
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related field from an accredited college
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in the foster care system
Excellent writing skills
Excellent computer skills including the most updated version of Microsoft Office and Excel
Excellent telephone and communication skills
Positive self-motivator
Adaptable to change
Ability to take direction from the Supervisor and Director of Foster Care
Ability to work effectively as a member of the Treatment Team of CCS
Possess and practice good public speaking abilities
Ability to Commute: Kingsport, TN
Preferred
Willingness to travel: 50%
