Caltrans District 3 is part of the Department of Water Resources, dedicated to managing California’s water resources sustainably. The Asset Engineer role involves assisting with asset management and collaborating with various engineering and maintenance teams to ensure the effective operation of water resource systems.

Government Administration

Responsibilities

Assist with work related to history, risk evaluations, priority standing and maintenance management of all Field Division Assets
Interface with the Headquarters Asset Engineers located in the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) and Division of Engineering (DOE)
Work with staff from both the Asset Management and Maintenance Management office
Collaborate with Field Division Planner Schedulers and Plant and Civil Maintenance staff

Required

Must possess a valid California Class C Driver's License as travel throughout the State may be required for extensive periods of time

Ability to utilize personal computers and commercial software programs to perform engineering computations
Ability to prepare clear and concise reports and presentations
Civil and plant experience with condition assessments
Experience with reliability, criticality and risk assessments
Knowledge or experience of the best practices for preventative maintenance
