Responsibilities
Verifies and processes daily transactions used in the preparation of financial reports and accounting statements for senior management
Accurately records month end journal entries and related accruals using a combination of independent judgement and collaboration with team members in accordance with accounting principles and reporting schedules in order to maintain complete and accurate financial statements
Ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles
Prepares periodic accounting schedules and performs month-end account reconciliations for both the balance sheet and the profit & loss statement
Analyzes variances and trends identified during the month-end close process and records adjustments as necessary
Researches variances and responds to review questions identified by management during the month-end close process
Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned
Seeks ways to improve processes and makes recommendations for changes
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting
Skilled in communicating effectively, verbally and in writing
Ability to effectively communicate with others at various levels within the organization
Ability to work independently in a remote work environment while keeping management and other team member updated
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Ability to gather, assemble, consolidate and analyze facts, draw conclusions and devise solutions
Knowledge of and ability to apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Knowledge of accounting systems and practices
Effectively works with external auditors and external tax professionals around annual financial statement audit, tax reporting and filing, and due diligence
Ability to identify and/or document existing and new processes as well as evaluate their effectiveness, develop improvements and/or recommend changes or alternatives
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, such as pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
Attention to detail and ability to assess and respond to multiple time sensitive situations
Possesses strong analytical skills to perform financial analysis and assess variances and discrepancies
Willingness and ability to take direction and apply to daily responsibilities
Ability to work in a fast paced and high growth environment
Preferred
2-3 years public accounting/or 4-5 years in corporate accounting preferred
Experience with Sage Intacct is highly preferred
Experience with new accounting standard for leases, ASC 842, preferred but not required
Experience with Sage Intacct is highly preferred
