Responsibilities
Own the end-to-end preparation, review, and timely filing of all external financial reports, including Forms 10-K and 10-Q, ensuring strict compliance with US GAAP and SEC regulations
Manage the quarterly and annual earnings process, including preparation of certain earnings materials and supporting documentation
Serve as the primary point of contact and liaison with external auditors on all matters related to financial disclosures and external reporting
Lead the quarterly Disclosure Committee meeting with key stakeholders
Lead and perform technical accounting research and analysis for complex transactions (e.g., M&A, debt/equity structures, stock-based compensation, and new business models)
Prepare and maintain detailed, well-supported accounting policy memos documenting the company’s positions and conclusions on complex matters
Proactively monitor emerging US GAAP and SEC developments, assessing their impact on Roblox's financial statements and disclosures, and leading implementation plans for new standards
Provide expert technical guidance and training to other cross-functional teams
Ensure the company maintains robust internal controls (SOX) specifically over the external financial reporting and disclosure process
Collaborate closely with Legal, Investor Relations, and FP&A to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance across all public financial communications
Drive continuous improvement in the reporting process, leveraging technology to increase efficiency and reduce reporting cycle time
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
Active CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license is required
10+ years of progressive experience in accounting, with a minimum of 4 years directly managing SEC reporting at a publicly traded company
Deep, expert knowledge of US GAAP, SEC regulations (Regulation S-X, S-K), and SOX compliance
Proven ability to independently research, analyze, and apply complex technical accounting guidance
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, necessary for drafting public disclosures and policy memos
