Patient Service Representative
Premier Infusion & Healthcare Services, Inc. is a preferred post-acute care partner for hospitals, physicians, and families in Southern CA, committed to delivering high-quality home health and infusion services. The Patient Service Representative will support the Intake Department through various responsibilities including transcribing information, managing referrals, and ensuring effective communication with referral sources.
Responsibilities
Responsible for transcribing all applicable information from the Intake Referral Form and patient information received from the referral source into the computer system correctly
Handles all faxes incoming to Intake Department and distributes appropriately
Calls referral sources to acknowledge receipt of faxes as applicable
Logs all new referrals according to the current process
Re-verification of insurance and demographics on restart patients as requested
Manages the Intake Department Referral Board which gives visibility of the daily productivity as needed
Enters patients info in CPR+
Processes simple referrals as requested such as Picc care orders, Hydrations, Inhalation Solutions, Injectable and basic referrals coming from Home Health
Creates invoices and charges credit cards as applicable
Makes outbound calls to follow up on a patient discharge, follow up on any missing information needed to process a referral such as an H&P, H&W, and address or obtain orders from a hospital or MDs office
Back-up and follows-up on insurance authorizations when necessary
Participate in surveys conducted by authorized inspection agencies
Participate in the pharmacy’s Performance Improvement program as requested by the Performance Improvement Coordinator
Participate in pharmacy committees when requested
Participate in in-service education programs provided by the pharmacy
Report any misconduct, suspicious or unethical activities to the Compliance Officer
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualification
Required
Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to express technical issues in 'layman' terms
Must be friendly professional and cooperative with a good aptitude for customer service and problem solving
Must have a High School diploma or Graduation Equivalent Diploma (G.E.D.) or Higher
Preferred
Fluency in a second language is a plus
Prior experience in a pharmacy or home health company is of benefit
Prior experience in a consumer related business is also of benefit
