Responsibilities
Facilitating 1-hour outdoor workshops focused on life skills (leadership, public speaking, focus, teamwork) using nature-based challenges and adventure-style programming
Delivering focused, high-energy motivational coaching sessions where you guide students toward achieving academic objectives through adaptive learning software
Animating curriculum through storytelling, personalized approaches, and dynamic energy that sustains high engagement among K-12 students
Implementing safety procedures and outdoor risk management (route selection, weather monitoring, equipment checks, Leave No Trace principles) according to Waypoint's field protocols
Evaluating skill acquisition by having students demonstrate their ability to apply life skills in authentic scenarios
Maintaining rigorous standards of excellence while serving as an approachable, motivating role model whom students genuinely admire
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in any field
At least 3 years of hands-on experience with K-12 students in educational settings, camp environments, coaching roles, or outdoor programs
Documented history of exceptional achievement in academic, athletic, or professional domains
Strong public speaking skills with the ability to captivate and maintain attention from large student groups in both indoor and outdoor settings
Authentic capacity to connect with K-12 learners, understand their interests and culture—not as a peer, but as a credible role model who challenges them toward growth
Authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship
Commitment to working in-person at Waypoint Academy's Dripping Springs, TX campus (Austin vicinity)
Preferred
