Responsibilities
Supervising accounting support staff and managing accounts payable, billing, cash receipts, reconciliations, and disbursements
Leading the month-end close process, performing balance sheet reviews, and preparing financial statements in full compliance with statutory accounting principles (NAIC and state statutes)
Supporting budget development, preparing financial scenarios and forecasts, and ensuring achievement of financial goals
Coordinating and managing audits, tax filings, payroll reconciliations, and maintaining banking relationships
Maintaining compliance with industry regulations and engaging in capital adequacy management
Communicating with insurance regulators and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
Participating in leadership meetings to support organizational goals
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, preferably with emphasis in Accounting or Finance
Minimum of three years' progressive experience in insurance accounting
Strong knowledge of insurance accounting principles, industry regulations, reinsurance, investment management, and treasury operations
Proven ability to supervise staff and outsourced vendors, analyze complex financial data, and produce accurate reports
