Responsibilities
Assist in identifying and documenting marked utilities, structures, and control points on plans, maps, and in the field
Accurately collect and record field data using assigned equipment to support utility mapping and project deliverables
Operate vacuum excavation equipment and related tools, including vacuum trucks, jackhammers, pogo-tampers, concrete saws, compressors, blowers, air lances, hoses, and hand tools
Perform operator-level maintenance on assigned company vehicles, tools, and equipment
Implement and maintain approved traffic control plans to ensure safe field operations
Drive company and commercial motor vehicles in accordance with DOT and company safety requirements
Actively work toward obtaining required certifications and skills through the company’s training and advancement program
Support project teams with additional field tasks and responsibilities as assigned
Qualification
Required
Valid driver's license, in conjunction with successfully passing the company MVR requirements, clean background check and drug screening
Ability to travel for extended periods of time
Work outdoors under the full range of weather conditions typically experienced throughout all seasons of the year
Ability to walk for extended periods over irregular terrain while carrying and/or employing any of the full range of surface geophysical and surveying equipment, the weight of such equipment is typically less than 30 lbs
Pick up and carry equipment, tools or supplies weighing up to 50 lbs. for short distances and assist others to do the same. This includes the loading and unloading of such items into and out of vehicles, storage areas, etc
Remove and replace manhole lids and covers weighing up 50 lbs., with assistance
