Responsibilities
Performs a variety of routine laboratory tasks and procedures
May assist with animal husbandry
Maintains lab equipment and related records
Transports, processes and logs samples
Maintains computer database with relevant clinical information
Performs lab maintenance duties, including glassware cleaning and sterilization
Maintains stocks of general lab materials, and places orders for lab equipment and supplies
Assists new students and fellows at the laboratory
Provide routine bioinformatics and computational support for translational Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) research projects under direct supervision
Assists with the execution and maintenance of established genomics and high-throughput data analysis pipelines in accordance with laboratory protocols
Performs routine data processing, quality control checks, and documentation for genomics datasets to ensure accuracy and reproducibility
Supports laboratory members with troubleshooting and optimization of existing computational workflows within Cedars-Sinai’s high-performance computing (HPC) environment
Monitors and tracks computational resource usage to support efficient utilization of shared resources for large-scale data analyses
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences required
Solid understanding of database management, personal computers, and presentation and imaging software
Understanding of general research objectives and experience with routine laboratory procedures and experimental protocols
Must possess digital literacy
