Inventory Control Manager

Tom Thumb Supermarket is seeking an Inventory Control Manager to oversee inventory management and ensure excellent customer service. The role involves managing deliveries, maintaining inventory accuracy, training employees, and ensuring compliance with company policies and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with emphasis on fast and friendly service
Receive all DSD (Direct Store Delivery) deliveries and log them into the computer system
Break down loads from DSD suppliers; transport product to freezer or cooler as needed
Verify orders against invoices, audit product cases, and use electronic receiving systems to confirm costs
Maintain invoices and reports in the established filing system per record retention schedule
Review and accept only proper and correct orders submitted by outside sales representatives
Prevent shrink, damage, and spoilage of products; repair and price damaged product if saleable or discard/return as required
Maintain security, sanitation, and organization of receiving, storage, and loading dock areas
Inspect backroom equipment (e.g., pallet jack, baler) and report malfunctions to Store Director
May assist with ordering, stocking, stacking, facing, pricing, marking, and rotating dairy and frozen items in the absence of clerks
Implement emergency procedures for equipment or software malfunctions
Ensure compliance with department standards and requirements
Train employees in store policies, sales, and record-keeping procedures
Identify and train employees with high potential for advancement opportunities
Maintain working knowledge of company policies and guidelines as outlined in the Employee Handbook
Ensure proper code dating for all products within the department
Comply with all workplace safety rules and regulations
Ensure safety, cleanliness, and sanitation of work area and equipment
Comply with grooming standards and dress code
Perform all duties safely, accurately, and with honesty and integrity
Control shrink and costs through proper handling and verification processes
Operate related equipment such as manual/electric pallet jacks, power lifts, balers, compactors, safety cutters, scissors, pricing guns, telephones, and computer equipment (handheld units and printers)
Perform other necessary and required duties as assigned
