Financial & Administrative Assistant
Ashburn Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department (AVFRD) is seeking a Financial & Administrative Assistant to support volunteer firefighters and EMTs. The role involves handling financial operations, procurement, and general administrative tasks in a dynamic nonprofit environment.
Public Safety
Responsibilities
Prepare and make accurate bank deposits
Process accounts payable and track expenses
Review of monthly financial statements for discrepancies
Manage purchases and expenses through our procurement software
Work with vendors to obtain quotes and track deliveries
Maintain organized records and databases
Assist with general office operations and supply management
Answer phones and route calls
Open, sort, and distribute mail
Qualification
Required
Prior experience in administrative and financial roles required
Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, OR equivalent experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Teams, Word, Excel), QuickBooks, and Procurify (or similar systems)
Able to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and keep accurate records
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Must be discreet, reliable, and able to work independently
Benefits
