Cybersecurity Architect

The Cybersecurity Architect will design, implement, and maintain security architectures to protect the organization’s data and systems while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Responsibilities
Develop and maintain enterprise security architecture frameworks, standards, and guidelines
Design secure solutions for cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments
Ensure compliance with cybersecurity and regulatory requirements (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, HIPAA)
Conduct threat modeling and risk assessments for new and existing solutions
Recommend mitigation strategies and security controls based on risk analysis
Evaluate emerging security technologies and trends; provide recommendations for adoption
Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and DevSecOps teams to integrate security best practices
Define and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures
Support audits and regulatory compliance initiatives
Serve as a subject matter expert during security incidents and investigations
Provide guidance on secure coding practices and vulnerability remediation
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field
10 years of experience in cybersecurity
5 years in an architecture or senior technical role
Strong knowledge of incident detection and response, end point security, network security, identity and access management (IAM), encryption, secure protocols, recovery strategies, policy development, audit processes, risk management, third-party risk management, and penetration / red team testing
Cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container security
Zero Trust architecture and modern security frameworks
Familiarity with compliance standards: NIST, CIS, ISO 27001, SOC 2
Hands-on experience with SIEM, EDR, firewalls, and vulnerability management technologies
Strong ability to break down complex problems
Strong critical thinking skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to influence at all levels of the organization
Preferred
Master's degree
CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or CIAC (GSTRT, GCIH, GSEC)
Cloud security certifications (AWS Certified Security Specialty, Azure Security Engineer)
