The Administrative Assistant will perform a variety of functions and confidential duties related to the administration and oversight of the chaplain's office under the direct supervision of the chaplain.

Clearly and effectively communicate and interact with persons who contact the chaplain's office with a balance of politeness, concern, and professionalism
Exhibit an encouraging and helpful presence with correctional officers and facility staff
Represent Good News and the chaplaincy with Christian excellence and dignity
Display the love of Jesus with all inmates, correctional officers and facility staff
Be knowledgeable of a wide range of ministry and facility administration policies, procedures and other pertinent information
Be familiar with all facility policies and procedures as it relates to this position and that of the chaplain and volunteers
Within parameters established by the chaplain, respond to general inmate requests. Deliver books and materials throughout the facility
Assist with administrative items such as filing, copying and organizing
Assist with various projects and other duties as assigned by the chaplain
